The bZ4X is the brand's BEV crossover, built in partnership with BYD on the e-TNGA architecture — it gives buyers the Toyota badge with modern EV range and charging speeds. The RAV4 and RAV4 PHEV cover the mid-size SUV segment.

For markets that still prioritize ICE reliability over EV adoption — large swathes of West Africa, parts of the Andean region — the China-built Corolla 1.5L hybrid and 2.0L petrol variants ship in volume with confirmed long-term parts pipelines. For early-adopter markets (Caribbean, Gulf, urban LatAm) the bZ4X serves the buyer who wants to import an EV but isn't comfortable yet putting their dealer reputation behind a pure Chinese marque.

A practical note on certification: China-built Toyota meets China-6 emissions, which is stricter than Euro 6 in most particulate categories. Customs clearance in Euro 5 / Euro 6 destination markets is straightforward.
